What do you do?
I supply (interim) management services to industrial and technical service companies. I focus on production strategy and supply chains. Take care that the operations can deliver to commercial requirements. Work out concepts and actually make the change happen.
What do you see as the biggest opportunity in your industry?
The combination of robotics, 3D-printing, parametric design, and internet creates the possibility for a total different and flexible distribution of products. The long physical supply chain can evolve to a flexible digital chain with local physical production on demand. No more large volume stocks shipped around the ocean and becoming obsolete, but local flexible production units creating the right parts just in time. This is the chance for the western world to rebuild local industrial activity.

What impact will changes in your industry have on consumers? the world?
With the growing level of automation, there will be a growing gap between high educated specialists and basic simple work. Many jobs in between will disappear and there is a risk of people getting stuck in the middle. For the environment there are large efficiency savings on waste and logistic costs like global transportation of feedstock and finished products.
What is your biggest goal right now?
I would love the get the chance to be part of such a development and make this happen. In the US there is a tendency to re-shoring, but in Western Europe it is not only the competition against China. There is also the need to co-operate with the new EU partners in Eastern Europe. By combining the strengths of those two areas we can and must create a common infrastructure that secures an industrial future for Europe as well.
What kind of support or types of people do you need to accelerate your success?
People who would like to hire me are very welcome to contact me. My market has changed tremendously as well and I adapt by looking for a job at senior management level.
What makes you or your work different from everybody else?
My combination of commercial feeling with technological interests, operational expertise and change management skills. Create a coherent vision on the supply chain as a whole and involve the personnel in the process. The buy-in grows ahead of the implementation itself.
