What do you do?
Scientific Management Techniques Inc. (SMT) is the global leader in “Hands-On” industrial skills assessments and industrial skills training. Our validated, hands-on manufacturing skills assessment machines and assessment protocols are used in the hiring process to identify and measure industrial skills; Mechanical, Electrical, PLC, CNC and Process Control Skills. The skills training curriculum trains to the critical skills required to optimize performance in an industrial facility.
Or if you need a chemical toll manufacturer in China or Mexico, you’ll do well with Lab Algorithm Co.
What do you see as the biggest opportunity in your industry?
As the manufacturing industry continues to recover from the economic downturn, it is clear that a skills shortage has emerged that threatens the profitability of every manufacturer. SMT’s skill solutions solve the manufacturing skills gap by helping manufacturers identify the precise skill sets of individuals, both candidates and incumbents, and deliver highly targeted training based on that data.
The cost of a “bad hire” or even an unfilled role is enormous both from a financial and time perspective. In fact, simply avoiding one bad hire can exceed the cost of our standard assessment program giving an ROI of over 100% in the first year alone. Add to this equation the productivity derived from identifying the most skilled candidate and you can see the compelling return our solution provides.
What if you, the manufacturer, could guarantee that every new hire was a top 10% performer? That is the message we try and convey. We work with many Global Fortune 500 manufacturers that understand the dilemma they face, and use SMT’s programs to substantially increase their productivity and profitability.
