What do you do?
Taking care of disabled family members. First book, “Blooming Idiot,” will come out soon to encourage family care givers. We’re all amateurs, learning and making it up as we go.
What do you see as the biggest opportunity in your industry?
There’s a surprisingly large number of people serving as primary care givers to disabled or special needs family members. They’re often isolated. They can be ignored, forgotten or abandoned, and there’s a great need for encouragement and support.
What impact will changes in your industry have on consumers? the world?
The internet in particular allows for contact and flow of information for people who can’t “get out” to meetings and events. Communicating for those people can improve their lives and, in so doing, the lives of those in their care.
What is your biggest goal right now?
Completion of my book, “Blooming Idiot,” and getting it to care givers and their loved ones, especially families living with autism.
What kind of support or types of people do you need to accelerate your success?
Readers who care for others and readers who know care givers.
What makes you or your work different from everybody else?
Care giver to both a disabled spouse and an autistic child. I bring spiritual as well as practical insight to the challenge.
