What do you do?
Web design… simple with custom modifications to complex with advanced programming
What do you see as the biggest opportunity in your industry?
My industry? Being internet related… and only a very small sliver of that construct, may actually have a very limited life span. With the advances in production, alternate forms of sensory perception being devised, and the likelihood that the Internet will begin to “think” for itself, I doubt websites will continue anything like they are today for all that long. Focus probably won’t be how they “look”: for much longer, but more along the lines of how they feel. I’m curious if we’ll stop programming and start doing something like sculpting instead.
What impact will changes in your industry have on consumers? the world?
I would expect changes to happen faster than we expect… there is already work being done on wearable brain to computer interfaces where your thoughts can be rendered onto the screen… thinking your way through big data should not only be possible very soon, but affordably… and so seamlessly that it is likely to be ubiquitous.
What is your biggest goal right now?
Honestly… to stave off progress for as long as possible so I can still pay my bills. Even though they’ll probably be antiquated in a couple of decades, websites are still very cool, useful and informative, and we’ve no where near reached the limits of what the Internet is capable of in its current form.
What kind of support or types of people do you need to accelerate your success?
Graphic designers and people who are far better at visual conception than I am… typically who are better at coming up with the requirements that make the programming and features I’m good at developing necessary.
What makes you or your work different from everybody else?
Not being a large production facility with a huge team. My productions are usually very detail-oriented, customized and often under-priced.
Thank You.
