What do you do?
I run a vintage and antique shop on Etsy, but we’ve decided to use my 3D printer to expand the shop into “handmade” items. We are starting Pop Toppers and H2O Mine which are bottle cap covers for you soda or bottled water.
We currently have a Zombie Shower head in production but we have not perfected the design yet!
What do you see as the biggest opportunity in your industry?
I think that 3D printing is the future of creativity. If you can draw it, you can make it real!
What impact will changes in your industry have on consumers? the world?
3D printing is a great way to bring innovation and ideas to life. You can test an idea and tweak it without have to invest large amounts of capital, just time.
What is your biggest goal right now?
To get the word out and see if people like the design and see the benefit of the product.
For the Pop Toppers and H2O Mine, they make opening and closing a soda easier. I am going to take this one step further, if you don’t mind. I take immune suppressants for the MS. It is like taking low dose chemo every day (yes my hair fell out, but is growing back now that my body has adjusted). There have been occasions when I am at a party or in public and I lose track of which soda is mine and I drink someone’s soda by mistake. The last time I ended up with walk pneumonia for over a month. Now I know the soda or water with the owl on top is mine and can’t make that mistake again.
What kind of support or types of people do you need to accelerate your success?
Ultimately, we need a higher end 3D Printer. It takes an hour and half to print one Pop Topper or H2O Mine. I think I need help upgrading the equipment so I can produce more faster to help more people.
In addition, we need help to get the word out. We have great ideas to help people function in the world better and improve the quality of life for many people.
Give us a problem, we can find a solution and test it!
What makes you or your work different from everybody else?
I think what make use different is I see things through the eyes of a person with a disability. I have Multiple Sclerosis, as silly as it may sound, it is hard for me to open and close soda and water bottles because the caps have gotten so small to save on materials and/or be more green. My hope, goal is to create items that will help someone regain the ability to do something that they have lost.
