What do you do?
Strategic Futurist helping businesses work out how to bridge their current state to the emerging future
What do you see as the biggest opportunity in your industry?
In 2004 on National Geographic Channel’s TV series ‘Future Matters’ I said that 3D printing would transform the retail sector and the way people acquired products. That stage is upon us though it now looks like manufacturers will get there first
What impact will changes in your industry have on consumers? the world?
3D Printing overturns the reliance on large & remote productions centres, enabling smaller companies and individuals to undertake their own production for niche or numerous items. There’s no longer a need for a firm to pay large scale funds to specialists when 3D printers are enabling production inside their own offices
What is your biggest goal right now?
Ongoing research across industry sectors identifying emerging areas of risk and opportunities
What kind of support or types of people do you need to accelerate your success?
We’re doing ok right now. Most of our product is research based initially before we assist clients to make the transition
What makes you or your work different from everybody else?
Not sure I am that different, just that I’m able to spend more time looking wider and considering implications of emerging issues to how organisations and businesses currently work
