What do you do?
Here at Dassault Systèmes, I help spread the word about customer success stories. I also help keep our customers, partners and employees updated on new product updates and industry solutions. We offer a wide scope of capabilities to help our customers to improve productivity, efficiency and quality.
What do you see as the biggest opportunity in your industry?
There is a trend that is now becoming “mainstream” thinking. Depending upon which country you live in, it could be called the “smart factory” or “smart enterprise” or the “Fourth Industrial Revolution” or “Industrie 4.0”. Regardless, it is all about the proliferation of devices connecting to each other, the intelligence that can be collected and the actions that can then be automated as a result. In the end, this manufacturing transformation has the potential to drastically change the way you and I will live our lives … but not likely for a few more years (or decades?) from now.
What impact will changes in your industry have on consumers? the world?
Manufacturers continue to improve the way they operate, the products they launch, and the timeline when new products are introduced. This cycle keeps compressing, due in part to the new IT infrastructure that is now available by several vendors, including Dassault Systèmes.
If we, as in the manufacturing industry, do things right, we can provide a higher standard of living while being more green in the process, helping to preserve our natural resources at a level never seen before.
What is your biggest goal right now?
Our top goal now is to improve the way engineering designs are integrated with the manufacturing operations involved in actually building the new products. And, to complete this cycle back to design from the “execution” side of the house. Greater feedback loops can help lead to better designs for version 2.0’s of products.
What kind of support or types of people do you need to accelerate your success?
Dassault Systèmes has been on quite a growth trajectory over the past several years, having doubled in size over the past 5 years. I don’t see this growth slowing down, so the company is always in need of support to achieve that growth and sustain it.
What makes you or your work different from everybody else?
Dassault Systèmes is a very global company, so on any given day I could speak with someone from Germany, Japan or the United States. This diversity keeps the job very interesting.
